Account control
Delete your FinDex account
Account deletion is initiated inside the signed-in FinDex app. The static website cannot authenticate you or perform privileged deletion.
Delete the account in FinDex
- Open FinDex and sign in to the account you want to delete.
- Open Settings.
- Choose Delete Account.
- Review the data-removal and Apple subscription information.
- Type DELETE in the confirmation field.
- Choose Delete Account, then confirm your identity with a connected Apple, Google, or email sign-in method. Email users enter their current FinDex password.
- If Apple is connected, FinDex also requests a fresh Apple authorization for revocation. Confirm the final prompt to continue.
The app reauthenticates the account before calling the protected deletion service. A successful deletion signs the app out and returns it to sign in.
Active data removed
The deletion service removes account-owned images before deleting the Supabase authentication user. Database relationships then remove the active FinDex copy of:
- Authentication account, email association, and profile record
- Tank records, setup details, notes, and tank photos
- Fish or livestock records, health status, notes, and fish photos
- Scan metadata, uploaded scan images, and user-confirmed identifications
- AI identification and aquarium-analysis results
- AI conversations, questions, attached image paths, answers, and context snapshots
- AI care reports and report input snapshots
- AI data-sharing consent records
- Complimentary allowance, AI usage and rate-limit records, and request linkage
- FinDex's cached RevenueCat entitlement and subscription-status record
- Account-deletion attempt record
Processor records and backups
FinDex requests deletion of the RevenueCat customer during account deletion. If RevenueCat deletion cannot be confirmed, the app reports that processor cleanup remains pending. RevenueCat and Apple may retain transaction information required for store operations, fraud prevention, accounting, disputes, or law.
For an Apple-linked account, FinDex verifies that the fresh Apple authorization belongs to the signed-in Supabase identity and requests revocation before deleting active FinDex data. If Apple cannot be verified or reached, deletion stops with a retryable error rather than silently skipping revocation.
Supabase backups, service logs, OpenAI safety records, and other processor systems may retain limited information until their configured recovery, security, or legal period expires. FinDex does not promise immediate removal from every backup. See the Privacy Policy for more detail.
Canceling FinDex Pro is separate
Deleting the FinDex account does not automatically cancel an Apple subscription. Apple billing can continue until the subscription is canceled.
Before or after deletion, open iPhone Settings, choose your name, choose Subscriptions, then select FinDex and follow Apple's cancellation options. You can also choose Manage Subscription on the FinDex deletion screen before completing account deletion.
If in-app deletion fails
Try again after checking the network connection and connected sign-in method. If the signed-in deletion flow repeatedly fails, email support@findexaquarium.com and include the non-secret Support ID shown in FinDex Settings plus the exact error message. Never send your password, verification link, provider token, or Apple authorization code.
Email support is for troubleshooting a failed in-app flow; it is not the normal substitute for initiating deletion inside FinDex. We may need to verify account ownership before assisting.
